How to take good pictures for your MKB books
Here are some tips to make sure you get the best quality pictures for your ABC books and flip cards
- For Each letter of the Alphabet, make a list of the people, pets or objects that you would like in your child’s book. Now it is time to take the photos or collect the ones you already have on disk.
- It is not necessary for each photo to be a head and shoulders close up. As long as you can see clearly who the person, pet or object is.
- The ABC book and flip cards templates will allow for both portrait or landscape style photos, so either is fine.
- Make sure the background of each shot is clear and uncluttered; you want the focus of each picture to be the person, pet or object.
- Take your photos to correspond to each letter of the alphabet and save them in a folder entitled ABC Book or flip cards, or choose from photos you already have.
- Now is the time to edit them, for light, red eye reduction etc. If you crop them, try to ensure they are still approx. 100k in size or you will lose resolution and the quality when printed in your book will be poor. If you are not happy with the look of the photo, we recommend taking another shot.
